Otter Creek Vacations
Located at the North Eastern portion of the Adirondack Mountains, the entire trail system is a series of sandy, wooded trails between Otter Creek and the Independence River, tributaries to the Black River. It's a really beautiful trail system and has a little bit of everything: marsh, rocks, meadow, overlooks and woodlands. Basing at the cabins we have access to miles and miles of trails to ride.
We rent a luxury cabin at the north end of the trail system that is only a ½ mile ride out the door to some of the most beautiful sandy trails.
Each day we have the option of packing a lunch and going on a long trek, or taking shorter trips returning to the cabin for our meals. Each horse has their own stall and paddock, making it possible for people to easily and safely (for the horse) sit out any ride to just enjoy the cabin.
Endurance Trekking Option:
For those looking to get more independent endurance miles, endurance riders are welcome to come and ride independently, separate from the guided groups. Each day hosts will provide maps of routes which include watering areas for horses, locations for sprint and interval work, and suggested break spots. Meet up locations with the guided group may also be orchestrated. Discussion of speed, tempo, metabolic expectations, and intervals will also be discussed in evening debriefs over wine and tea. Daily lameness evals will also be offered by hosts. Analysis of ride metrics from EquiLab tracking readouts can also be offered.
BYO Horses are welcome for the Endurance Trekking Option but may not be approved to join guided rides depending on herd and rider dynamics, for safety. BYO Horse Discount of $50/day. Trailer Your Own Horse & Supplies Discount of additional $60/day
PRICE: $425 per day at Abbey Lane and Bunkhouse Cabin
You must attend entire length designated for each trip.

- Individual Days can be purchased with permission at $500 per day
NUMBER OF RIDERS: Each Vacation is limited to 4 riders at Abbey Lane and 4 riders at Bunkhouse Cabin.
